California’s Biggest Retail Chain goes belly up and threatens to bring down several companies with them. We will see several of your favorite brands follow suit. When bankruptcy is filed, all collection efforts by creditors are required to cease. Here is a list of companies that are owed money by Active. Basically they are shit out of luck. My guess is some will have to close their doors. A couple of brands on this list owe us money. Time to build a solar still, buy some guns, grow a garden, raise some chickens, and go fishing.

On Friday, September 5th, we lost one of our finest. The details of Van Wastell's death are not clear yet but it appears he fell from his Berlin hotel's window. dlxsf.com has a nice tribute piece posted that nearly brought tears to my eyes. What he went on to tell me was seemingly unbelievable. On Friday Sept. 5th, Van Wastell fell from a Berlin hotel window to his death. This is devastating news for all of us here at Matix, as Van was our friend, our team rider and a close homie of mine. I don’t know what else to say other than we will miss the fuck out Van, he will continue his journey in mind and spirit.
